Sr. Editorial Designer / Visual Designer

IGN is one of  world's most popular sites for gaming news, reviews and updates. IGN caters to more than 68 million monthly users on its website and apps. As a senior editorial designer, I was responsible for leading the editorial design team in creating all artwork that was to accompany IGN editors' content. We also collaborated with the video team and created branded assets for their motion designer to implement in their videos. As IGN's visual designer I worked with the creative director and UI/UX designer to create a visual style that was on brand and current for IGN's iOS Native App. I was also responsible for the visual design of supplemental apps to accompany blockbuster games that had features such as maps, guides, character planners, and tutorials.   

Visual Designs

As visual designers at IGN, we saw a huge shift from users who had previously viewed the IGN website from desktop and laptop computers to their mobile devices. IGN decided to take on a few big projects focusing on their mobile experience, and began to create third party apps for blockbuster games such as Guild Wars 2, Mass Effect 3, and Skyrim, to name a few.

IGN iOS Native App

The first IGN iOS app was basically a frame for the mobile website and the iPad app was built as a separate entity. We decided to create a native, universal app. We completely redesigned the structure, feature set, and look and feel from the ground up. 

Various Visual Design Projects

IGN further pushed to reach for viewership by creating apps on Xbox Live and iOS apps to enhance gaming experiences on blockbuster games. I was responsible for creating the visual design for the Guild Wars 2 Character Planner app, among several others.

Sr. Editorial Designer

As a senior editorial designer, I led the editorial design team that created all content art across all channels for IGN.com. Our team was responsible for creating anywhere from 20-40 pieces of art daily.
